Mt. Maculot

After the tiring Cebu Tour, here's another unforgettable mountaineering experience.  Although, I admit that this month is my busiest month in my blogging career.  Almost every rest day, I have schedules to visit different places.

Mt. Maculot is an amazing mountain that everyone should try.  It is perfect for those people who just started their journey in mountaineering.  The new trail is actually simple, no need to worry about the marks because aside from ribbons, you can easily notice the signs in some trees on the trail.

Before ascending, the ambiance in the whole area is really good.  The people on the neighborhood were so kind, they greeted us saying magandang umaga po!  So, we just replied them by saying hi and hello.  The air is not that warm, so it's very advisable to travel enthusiasts.  Tricycles are available in every corner of the Barrangay, so it is really accessible.

Walking Along the Streets of Cebu City

February 21-22, 2013 was my first Solo-Backpacking in Visayas.  It was a great experience because everything was my first time.  From the plane ride to Cebu City as my destination.

I did this Solo-Backpacking in this amazing city because I want to learn small things that I should know as backpacker.  Among other provinces, Cebu City is one of the places that is very friendly for Solo-Backpacker.  Since it was my first time, last year, when I got my 1-peso air fare in an Airline company, I already bought a map of this city.  I know I was too much excited for it, but I want to be 120% prepared - that's how I always do Solo-Backpacking.

My map was really helpful in every move that I did especially when the plane arrived in Mactan-Cebu International Airport.  After getting off the plane and I was waiting for the airport taxi, I was speaking to an airport maintenance.  He gave me an introduction about the history of the airport taxi and how many taxes are their in Cebu.  This kind guy gave me tips on how does the jeepney's of Cebu are categorized based on their routes.

My first stop in the City of Cebu was  to take my breakfast in the commercial fast food along Colon Street.  Inside the fast food, all were speaking in their own language, although I can understand them, but NO Tagalog at all.  When I ordered my food, I noticed that the cashier's voice was really calm speaking in tagalog.  The accent was really cute and she sounded very courteous and polite.

While eating my breakfast, I was still starring on the map.  I asked one of the crew about a certain location, and he helped me a lot!  Before leaving the fast food, the guard said: "Thank you ma'am/sir"  Question: How did the guard got the idea that I was a combination of a Ma'am and Sir?  Anyways, to continue reading, click this link: My Travel Guide

The Historical Sites of Cebu

My 3rd Solo-Backpacking within 24 - Hours

February is the busiest start for my 2013, the whole month, I only spent two of my rest days in my apartment and a lot of it were spent in different places, that's how busy I am this month.  Take note, I am an ordinary human being, so my wallet, pen and spreadsheet were also busy for my budget.

Going to the Historical sites across the country is absolutely part of my blog.  I truly love those places that were properly preserved for the future generations.  I dedicate this post to every agencies that play a great role in preserving those historical artifacts.  I want to help them in promoting the historical wealth to the newest generations.  Many travelers want to promote the gorgeous and untouched places, but here in my blog, everything is important.

I came to an idea of visiting the historical places of Cebu because I was inspired by the Magellan's Cross being published in a travel magazine in the book store.  So, aside from Magellan's Cross, I tried to search some other sites in the Province that gave a huge impact in the history of Cebu and even the country.

I book this flight on November 2012 and I based it on my rest days, but unfortunately, our schedule was changed and everything was also changed based on my plans.  This is the great thing in Solo-Backpacking, I can adjust everything easily, so Feb. 14, 2013, just a week before this trip, I filed an unpaid leave just for this trip.  Good thing that we had more hours available this time, so my leave was easily approved.  That's one of the challenges in working in a call center  while traveling.

February 21, 2013 - I woke up at around 1:15AM for my general preparation for my travel to Cebu.  There were some feeling which I can't explain that time, maybe because of the excitement.  As usual after my preparation, I took my simple breakfast (coffee and bread) then cleaned and dressed myself well.  Read more by clicking this link: My Travel Guide

Celebrate Love and Lust at Mt. Pulag

Today is February 14, 2013, the Valentines Day, it is the start of my Pulag invasion.  This day is also my last day in the office and I will be back on Monday, imagine that!  I am not yet prepared for this event, my jackets and everything are still not yet in my backpack; I'll prepare it tomorrow, Friday, while washing my clothes.  I will also going to check my tent as well, if it's still okay, the last use was at " Lamyerda sa Borawan " in Quezon.  After my shift, I went to Greenland in Pasig City to borrow a sleeping bag just for this event.  As usual, every time I go there, we have drinking sessions and that's what happened.

Friday, February 15, 2013 - I was really busy cleaning my apartment, washing my used clothes and preparing for this huge celebration.  After my house chores, I think it was 1PM, I took a rest while surfing in facebook and getting updates from the participants of this event.  2PM I decided to sleep while the tv is on.  I woke up at around 4PM and I felt that I gained a lot of energy, so I continued my preparations.

9:13PM - I left the apartment wearing my blue clima-fit long sleeves, brown trekking pants, shoes and my 60L backpack.  For Security Purposes: I removed everything plugged in the electric outlet.  I can't explain the feeling that time, excited and pressured, I don't know.  Before going to bus terminal, I also took tricycle for 8 pesos, jeep for 8 pesos, bus for 16 pesos and then taxi for 100 pesos. TOTAL: 132 pesos.  Now, think a slim and gorgeous woman with a huge backpack, riding in a public utility vehicle - that's me!

PM - reached Victory Liner Inc. Terminal in Cubao - the meeting place of all the 17 participants.  I already met some of them but I truly excited to meet the others especially the cute boys - if there are, no comment yet.  I took a taxi from Galleria going to Five Star terminal in EDSA Northbound, then walked few meters and crossed the foot bridge connecting the two sides of EDSA in the area.  Continue Reading by clicking this link: My Travel Guide

Borawan Island

This photo was taken at Borawan Island in Quezon Province, Philippines.  This is part of my event "Lamyerda sa Borawan "  This Island is absolutely perfect for the people searching for an island adventure.  It can give a lot in terms of pristine beauty; the clear water, green surroundings, powdery white sand beach and fresh air can be found here.

You just need to sacrifice your 3-4 hours to visit this lovely place.  The people living in this place are so kind, they can give you everything they can offer.   From the high way, it is just 15 minutes boat ride, and take note while on the boat, you can also see how the whole area received a real gift from the nature.  More of my journey? click here: My Travel Guide

Lamyerda sa Borawan

This is my first event I've created successfully, that's why I am happy about the result.

That gorgeous place we visited was a truly paradise.  The ambiance, the crystal clear water, the sun rise and sun set, the air was really cool and our relationship being built that time was amazing.

Plus the people living  in the island were really nice and kind to us.  We were the only campers that time, so we made sure that we enjoyed a lot in that island.

Among other beaches that I've been with, I can give my two thumbs up here.  It amused me the whole time, everything were really a blessings from the nature.

If I will be given a chance to go back here, I will gladly accept it.  The whole experience was really great and I can suggest this place to all travelers seeking for an amazing trip.  More of our journey, click here: My Travel Guide
